Went out to lunch again today, but just got soup and eggroll. Spent too much on Jamies Party last weekend, but it was worth it. Also went to Target to try the TIGI After Party Smoothing cream on my hair again to make sure I like it before springing for a bottle of it (Its $18.50!) What I do is try a small dab on one side of my hair and see how it is. Having an issue with flyaway hair...drives me crazy. I have tons of hair product up stairs and none seem to work.

For once I didn't buy it before checking reviews. 35 reviews and they were all raves. So I tried it again, and will get it when I am off 'No Buy January' While at Target I bought a couple more of the Pink Strawberry shortcake headbands for Jamie and a folder.

Spent on lunch and target = $15
Didn't spend on Hair product = $19

VVA picked up our stuff...all the stuff i have posted since I started logging at the beginning of the year. (Except the kitty litter locker as I am goin to see if Diana wants it for her doggies)

Todays pile for Goodwill

6 Infant tee shirt
infant sweater
4 Mens sport shirt
Womens jeans
womens nightgowwn nwt
2 2 pc baby outfit
2 sleep and play
Baby gator suit
2 womans knit tops
2 baby rattles

Slow but sure...I am also trying to learn how to decorate a cake in a simple yet pleasing way. I am not giving in to the impulse to buy the Ariel Pan, dyes to match ariels hair, skin and flowers and top, and the other accessories needed to make this cake.

Money not spent
$15 for the pan
$7 for the dyes
$12 for the candle and cake topper

Did spend about
$6 for the candles and topper i did buy as well as $3.50 for the egg white powder needed to make dyable icing though and another $4 for the flower nail and tips to do flowers with. Also $2.50 for the containers for the party favors = .33 each at Michaels = $16

And it doesn't look like I will be dying the icing...though I may try to do some simple flowers.

I did go out to lunch on Friday
$12 (Thai food yum)
and we went to the childrens Museum and Chik Fillet with some old friends

$45 for the family membership (for the year)
$15 for Lunch at Chik Filet

Money spent $72

Total 72 + 16 = $88

Whew lots of money spent for a no buy Jan

Oh and $30 on the Chuck e cheese reservation..of which the total will probably be $96 next week at Jamies birthday...still have to buy stuff to put in the party favor containers...

Today I bought an egg sandwich and coffee

I was trying not to buy anything including meals out this month for 'No Buy' January, but I am out in the territory and need to eat something occasionally. I guess if I was truly giving it my all I would be packing my lunch...anyway I spent four dollars today and $3 yesterday on eating fast food items. However yesterday I tried to get cuticle oil at Kmart and they didnt have it. They did have Revlon on sale for 40% off, so I was going to get some face make up and eyeshadow. I overcame the urge and ran out of there.

I also went out to lunch with the gang on Tuesday and spent $12

Spent $17
Didnt spend $11

It's funny how when you don't take the stuff out of the house, you rethink tossing it. I have separated the Dustbuster and attachment set and put them in the garage in case I ever want to use them. Ugh I haven't used them in the 9 years we have lived here. I should just toss them! We have a shop vac and a regular vac, why do I need a Dustbuster? I keep thinking I will use it on the blinds...so far I haven't done so.

And I had thrown some ice cube trays in the bag to go to Good will and I saw them in Mikes trunk about a month ago, and they are still there! Meanwhile I found some more Ice cube trays and an Ice bin so I put them in the Good will this weekend.

As well as this:

3 Ice cube trays and 1 bin
Ladies long sleeve blouse
Ladies dress pants
Baby rattle
Baby toy bar
9 infant shirts
9 infant pants
3 infant sleep and plays
2 infant pajamas
3 pairs baby shoes
2 pair baby sneakers
3 pair baby sandals

Now we just need to get the stuff from the garage to Goodwill!

Oh and during this 'No Buy' January I have found a thrifting site:

I guess I am thrifting vicariously via the site.

Starting to Purge!

4 Men's Suit Jackets
1 Leather Mens Bomber JACKET
1 Fabric Heavy weight Mens jacket
1 Very Large Picnic Basket with Tablecloth, silverware etc.
1 Dirt Devil with Attachment kit
4 Womens sweaters
1 Cat litter locker

I need to purge crap out of this house! I hope to keep track of my progress on this blog. Our next door neighbor died and I got to see the inside of his house, which was stacked to the ceiling with stuff, with a path down the middle of each room. Inspiration to clear the piles that I have everywhere. My friend Cinda is not going to buy in January. If I were smart that would be what I would do. Can I do it? Shall I try? It would be supportive to her...and would help me clear out this house. We shall see.

Meanwhile I started this blog to not only track my progress and encourage me to continue it as well as keeping track of our donation for taxes next year.
